Desserts

Nana's Banana Foster

Desserts are a course that typically comes at the end of a meal, usually consisting of sweet food. The word comes from the French language which is why Louisiana is known for great desserts. Common Louisiana recipes include King Cakes, banana foster, beignets, pralines, peanut brittle, and best of all bread pudding.

Most families in Louisiana make actually 2 or 3 for every family gathering. Our family makes sure to save room. Even if we are full, we have very often over eaten beacuse they are just too good to pass up. There are hundreds of recipes that we have tasted over the years. The pages below will describe all of our favorite recipes and how to make them. Please try some the recipes and let us know what your favorites are!
